::We stayed at Dubrovnik Apartments Lara having found them via Airbnb. We visited Dubrovnik at the very start of May - the very first week of the season and had a wonderful visit due to both the weather and beautiful surroundings of Old Town, and the accommodation. The apartment location is right in the middle of Old Town - there's no exaggeration when they say '15 steps from the main street'. Staying here you are surrounded by (and living within one of) the lovely old buildings, mere steps away from the harbour and the cable car, and with a host of fantastic restaurants, bars, and cafes. We personally highly recommend a visit to Wanda Restaurant for food - it's just a few steps up from the apartment doors and some of the best food we have ever eaten. You could not get more central and yet despite it's central location the apartment itself was quiet and tranquil. Clean and modernly furnished with a powerful shower and a little kitchen we had everything we needed for our stay. For the price (cheaper than a local hotel), we really got great value for money. One final - important - thing of note: the hosts were fantastic. We called them when we arrived (very early in the morning and much too early to be able to get into the apartment) and they met us, stored our luggage and told us where to get a good coffee and a bite to eat whilst the flat was prepared for us. Their knowledge for local things to do and places to see was second-to-none (the opinion of a local resident is far more valuable than that of the tourism companies), and they left us a phone number we could call any time if we needed anything. We had a really lovely holiday and a great stay here - I'm already recommending my friends and colleagues consider it and would say the same in this review: Apartments Lara is a great place to spend a few days in Dubrovnik and a very viable alternative to the usual hotel options.
